The Raider Symphonic Band consists of seventh and eighth grade band students who are developing their instrumental technique and listening skills within the ensemble setting. The Symphonic Band performs band literature in the 1-1.5 difficulty level.

In the fall, all Symphonic Band students prepare for the Region 20 All-Region Honor Band Auditions. We also perform with the Wind Ensemble students at two middle school football games, the annual Blue Out game with the Highlander band, as well as participate in the annual Veteran’s Day and Holiday concerts. In the spring, the Symphonic Band competes in the UIL Concert & Sight Reading Contest as the HPMS Non-Varsity Band and competes at the annual end-of-the-year band trip festival.
